Lives and works in Yirrkala, Northern Territory, Australia

Will Blake is a young photo artist who has established a dedicated following.

In his work, Blake explores contemporary methods of creating images through the camera and computed aided software by first creating the image and then manipulating its properties through Photoshop.

In the current series Shaped Light 2006-2007 Blake states that:
'The images are of light that has been refracted through glass onto a zinc plate.  I then took a high speed photo which was reproduced onto high quality canvas and mounted onto stretcher bars for support. To be able to create a body of work I changed the angle of the glass to produce subtle differences in the shape, colour and tone. The images were produced over a two year period 2006-2007.'

Blake is passionate about his local environment and showcasing the beauty of Australia's Top End. In 2004-2005 Blake was short listed for the United Nations Environment Program International Photogenic Competition 'Focus on your world'. Blake submitted a triptych of which one work was selected. This work features the Salvinia weed infestation which threatens the Kakadu wetlands and was accompanied by an essay outlining the danger of this infestation to the natural environment.
