Lives and works in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia

Jacqueline Gropp is a  renowned glass artist who has exhibited both nationally and internationally.

Gropp completed a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours at the Australian University of Australia in 1997.  As an emerging artist she exhibited in Australia, Italy and America and has received numerous awards and scholarships to further her career.

Her work is an exploration of the concept of the body which she explores through alchemy and scientific transformations.  Gropp has a strong interest in the depiction of glass in painting as well as the sublimation of the human body depicted in Dutch still life painting.

Gropp's glass sculptures incorporate forms and materials associated with scientific apparatus and experiments.  These forms and materials include flasks, borosilicate glass, beads, liquids, carbon and burnt wood.  This material then provides a way to explore form through layering techniques which highlights space, inbetween and within.

Gropp's work is complex, well crafted and highly evocative.
