Dianne Blake is a printmaker for the Indigenous artists and young students at the Buku-Larrnggay Mulka Centre, Art Centre at Yirrkala, north east Arnhem Land.
As a printmaker and artist Blake is influenced by the beauty of Australia's natural landscape and the traditions of the Yolngu people at Yirrkala. Her subject matter draws upon the beautifully crafted dilly bags created by the Yolngu women, the collection of oysters and the sharing of food around the campfire, as well as the beauty of Australla's natural landscapes.
Blake experiments with layering techniques, gauzes, linens and natural ochres to produce textured surfaces to highlight the natural beauty of her surroundings as well as the talent, beauty and craftsmanship of the Yolngu women.
